Bio

High School: Emani Lynn Young attended Oakdale High School, where she played basketball under Head Coach Renotta Edwards. Her Warriors team won the LHSAA state championship twice, in 2023 and 2025. Emani was named to the First Team All-State in 2025 and earned the LHSAA Division IV MVP award in 2023. In addition to basketball, she also played softball and ran track for the Warriors, graduating cum laude.

Personal: Emani is from Oakdale, Louisiana. She is the daughter of Marcus Young and Tyra Blow and has one brother, Amir. At BRCC, she is majoring in Louisiana Transfer with a concentration in Criminal Justice, aspiring to become a social worker. Her favorite athletes are Kyrie Irving and Cameron Brink, and her favorite professional team is the Los Angeles Sparks. She enjoys seafood as her favorite food and Takis as her favorite snack. Emani dreams of visiting Turks and Caicos one day. She admires her mother, who she considers a strong role model for herself and her brother.
