A tough start to the second half was the big difference on Friday afternoon. Itawamba jumped on the Lady Bears with a 15-0 run to begin the third quarter and BRCC was facing an uphill battle the rest of the way.
After a sluggish start, BRCC outscored Itawamba in the second quarter, but was down 27-18 heading into intermission. The nine point deficit was nothing the Lady Bears could not overcome, until they went scoreless in the third quarter for the first seven minutes and the Lady Indians extended their lead to thirty points.
When it was all over, BRCC lost to the eventual Region 23 champions 71-45. Baton Rouge finished the season with a 14-15 record, but they also finished as conference champions (7-2).
Bear Notes:
- BRCC was outrebounded 43-36 and gave up 13 offensive rebounds.
- Lady Bears turned the ball over 20 times to Itawamba.
- Doneisha Young finished with 14 points.
- Pearl Jones grabbed 8 rebounds, while Ariane Addison had seven (six offensive).
