Tonight, the Baton Rouge Bears faced off against the Southwest Mississippi Bears for the nineteenth time, with both teams having previously split the first eighteen meetings. The Baton Rouge Bears demonstrated an aggressive and consistent offensive flow, resulting in a dominant victory with a score of 84 to 24 over their Region 23 opponent, the Southwest Mississippi Bears.
The first ten minutes of the game were closely contested, with Baton Rouge holding a slim five-point lead at the halfway mark of the first half, 15-10. During this period, neither team could establish a clear advantage as they traded baskets. However, in the next ten minutes, the Bears received strong contributions off the bench from Jok Job and Bryce Coleman, fueling a 30 to 17 run. They built their largest lead of the game at 28 points when Dylan Dominique made one of two free throws with nine minutes remaining. Despite rotating players throughout the second half, the Bears maintained their momentum, ultimately concluding the Southwest Coca-Cola Classic with a decisive 84 to 64 victory.
