Bio

2023-2024 Season: Courtney played in 14 games for the Bears, starting in 6 of them. He was a significant contributor during LCCA play, demonstrating leadership on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court. He scored a total of 153 points, with 53 rebounds, 11 assists, 15 steals, and 3 blocked shots. Courtney was named to the LCCAC First Team All-Conference and the All-Region XXIII Team. Additionally, he was selected to participate in the NCAA College Basketball Academy this summer in Rock Hill, SC, where he showcased his talents in front of college coaches and learned valuable life skills.

High School: Courtney attended Richwood High School, where he played basketball under Head Coach Terry Martin. He also played baseball for the Rams. During his high school career, he was named to the Fast Break All-Star Team, the Beast of the Week All-Star Team, and the LHSCBA All-Star Team.

Personal: Courtney is from Monroe, Louisiana. He is the son of Billy Tyrone McCarthy and Keri Nicole Smith. He has two sisters, McKenzie and Maleah, and two brothers, Billy Jr. and Jacari. He is currently majoring in Business at BRCC. His favorite athlete is Kevin Durant, and his favorite food is cornbread casserole. His dream vacation is to visit Dubai. The person he admires the most is his dad, who encourages him to strive for improvement.
