Wednesday March 16, 2022: Women's Basketball
The Conference coaches from LSU-Eunice, Delgado, BRCC and SUSLA have come together to select the all conference team members. The Lady Bears had four student athletes selected for various honors and Head Coach Paula Lee was named Coach of the Year.
Alanna Donaldson, a returning freshman guard from New Orleans, Louisiana and Chalmette High School, was selected to the All-Conference First Team. In her true freshman campaign, last year Alanna was selecetd to the first team All Conference.Alanna played in all nine conference games where she started eight. She scored 126 points with 40 steals, 32 assist and 27 rebounds. She was the floor general for the Lady Bears on the court and a outstanding leader for her teammates off the floor. Alanna was also selected to the All- Defensive team for the second straight season.
Angel Bradford, a returning freshman guard from Brusly, Louisiana and Brusly High School, was selecetd to the All- Conference First Team. Angel gave the Lady Bears solid minutes on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. She played in 9 conference games where she scored 90 points, with 23 rebounds, 17 assist and 11 steals. Angel overcame a mid-season ankle injury to contribute the the Lady Bears winning the conference title.
Tronayia Issac, a sophomore forward from Lafayette, Louisiana and Lafayette Christian, was selected to the All-Conference Second Team. Tronayia started all nine conference games. She scored 67 points with 46 rebounds and averaged 1.6 steals per game. Nae was a go to constant in the paint for the Lady Bears and occasionally a three point sharp shooter.
An'Tiesha Griffin, a sophomore guard from Alexandria Louisiana and Alexandria Senior High School, was selected to the All-Defensive Team for the second straight year.. An'Tiesha played in nine conference games where she had 21 steals. Nuney embraced this year team slogan of defend and dominate. When her offensive game was not quite on, she would focus on her defense which helped fuel the Lady Bears.
Head Coach Paula Lee was named Conference Coach of the Year. Coach Lee is in her twelth season as the Lady Bears' Head Coach. This season she led her team to a 17-8 overall record and an 8-1 conference record. Her Lady Bears' team were conference chapions and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the Region 23 tournament.

Baton Rouge finished the season 17-8 and 8-1 in conference play. The Lady Bears recaptured the regular season conference championship and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the Region 23 tournament eventually losing to the Southwest Mississippi Lady Bears.
