High School: Verd “Saphs” Fontaine attended Pierre Charles Secondary School where she played basketball for Coach Julian Benjamin.  Verd was named Sports Women of the Year.  While in high school, she also played netball and volleyball.

Personal: Hometown is the Commonwealth of Dominica.  She is the daughter of Sophia Henry and Valance Fontaine.  She has two sisters, Valencia and Valina and three bothers Shawn, Jahnaya and Melvin. BRCC Major is Pre-Engineering. She would like to become a software designer. Her favorite athlete is Giannis Antetokounmpo.  Her favorite movie is Grown Ups, and her favorite food is pasta. Her dream vacation is to go to Dubai.
