Softball Adds Pair of Transfers for Spring Semester
BATON ROUGE – Baton Rouge Community College softball coach Mark Suire announced the addition of two transfers to their roster for the upcoming season. Karaline Randazzo, a middle infielder/outfielder from New Iberia, LA and Bella Bishop, an outfielder from Plano, TX, will be joining the team for the spring semester. According to Suire, the two could contribute immediately to the Bears' softball program heading into the 2023 season.
We have added two young ladies to our program who we hope will come in and contribute to our success immediately. They are both talented softball players, but more importantly, they are good people who want to succeed on the field and in the classroom," said Suire. "Karaline brings experience at multiple positions and was expected to be the starting second baseman this year at her previous college. She is a middle infielder who also has the ability to play in the outfield, and could add depth to the pitching staff as well.
Bishop, a product of Plano High School, is expected to help in the Bears' outfield, and could be an asset offensively.
"Bella brings athleticism and offensive skill, and has demonstrated the ability to hit the long ball as well. She should also provide much needed depth in the outfield. We are excited to add Bella and Karaline to our program, and look forward to their contributions," concluded Suire. Both Randazzo and Bishop are in their first year and will have two seasons of eligibility at BRCC.
The Bears open the 2023 season on January 31, when they host Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in a doubleheader at 1PM. BRCC home games are played at Hartley/Vey Sports Park at Oak Villa
