Bears pick up key LCCAC Victory over Dolphins

This afternoon, the Baton Rouge Bears faced off against the Delgado Community College Dolphins in a crucial LCCAC matchup at the Bonne Sante Wellness Center. The Bears secured a decisive victory, defeating the Dolphins 86 to 70.
The Bears quickly established a lead, thanks to three critical baskets by Jok Job, giving them a 12-3 advantage just four minutes into the game. The Dolphins managed to rally, cutting the Bears' lead to just two points, 16-14, with 11 minutes remaining in the half. However, the Bears responded by efficiently involving all players in their offense, extending their lead to 10 points, 32-22, with six minutes left in the half. They entered the locker room with a 46 to 31 lead.
Continuing their strong performance on both ends of the court, the Bears maintained their dominance. Although the Dolphins attempted a comeback, it ultimately fell short, allowing the Bears to secure the win at 86 to 70.
Jok Job led the Bears with 15 points and 4 rebounds. Four players scored in double figures for the Bears, Job, Kentrell Freeman, Noah Whitehead and Tyrael- Cage Heke. Oren Bowens led the Dolphins with a game-high 25 points, while Awogboro and Rios helped their team with double-digit scoring.
With this victory, the Bears improved their record to 12-14 overall and 2-2 in conference play, while the Dolphins fell to 11-13 and 1-2 in the season. Historically, the Bears lead the all-time series against Delgado with 34 wins to 16 losses.
