Bears drop first game of Decari Markray Classic to BPCC

The Baton Rouge Bears faced off against the Bossier Parish Cavaliers to kick off the fourth Annual Decari Markray Classic this evening at the Billy Montgomery Gymnasium. The Cavaliers emerged victorious with a score of 81 to 68.
The Cavaliers led the Bears at halftime, with a score of 39 to 27. While the Bears attempted a comeback in the second half, they were unable to overcome the Cavaliers' lead. The Cavaliers outscored the Bears 42 to 41 in the second half.
Bryce Coleman led the Bears with 22 points, and three other players scored in double figures: Noah Toussaint with 18 points and Cardez Norman with 13 points. On the Cavaliers' side, Tony Montgomery was the high scorer of the game with 26 points, supported by teammates Lewis, Cooper, and Lumori, all of whom also contributed to the double-digit scoring.
With this loss, the Bears fell to 4-6 for the season, while the Cavaliers improved to 5-2. Bossier Parish now leads the all-time series against Baton Rouge, winning 9 out of 13 matchups.
