NJCAA All Region 23 Award Winners

April 11, 2024: Men's Basketball

JACKSON -- Region 23 of the NJCAA today release their 2023-2024 Men's and Women's All-Region Team. Winners were selected by a panel of the region's basketball coaches.

Bears Freshman Small Forward Courtney McCarthy and Sophomore Guard Jarrell Love were selected to the NJCAA All Region Team.

Courtney McCarthy a freshman small forward from Monroe, Louisiana and Richwood High School was selected to the All-Region 23 team. Courtney played in 14 games this season for the Bears where he started 6. In those 14 games, he scored 153 points with 53 rebounds, 11 assists, 15 steals and 3 blocks.  Courtney came up clutch for the Bears as they made their run through the Region 23 tournament.

Jarrell Love, a sophomore guard from Fort Worth, Texas and Crowley High School was selected to the All-Conference Second Team.  Jarrell played 25 games for the Bears where he started 11. In those games, he scored 252 points with 124 rebounds, 17 assists, 24 steals and 9 blocks. Mr. Love became the go to man down the stretch for the Bears in the Region 23 tournament.
