Bio

Jonathan Parker is entering his first season as the Head Baseball Coach at Baton Rouge Community College. Previously, he spent five seasons as an assistant coach at Jones College in Ellisville, Mississippi.

During his time at Jones College, his alma mater, Parker served as the Bobcats' recruiting coordinator and worked with hitters and catchers. He played a key role in helping the Bobcats achieve a remarkable record of 182 wins and 47 losses. This past season, Jones finished with a record of 41-18, won the NJCAA Region 23 Championship, and advanced to the NJCAA Division II World Series. Under his guidance, the Bobcats were MACC runners-up in 2025 and Region runners-up in 2024, consistently earning spots in the NJCAA Top 10 final rankings.

Parker began his coaching career alongside Wes Thigpen at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where he spent two seasons with the Bulldogs.

A native of New Orleans, Parker was a two-year team captain and catcher at Jones College during the 2016-2017 seasons. He helped the Bobcats achieve a combined record of 100-13, winning their first NJCAA Division II National Championship in 2016 and an MACCC Championship in 2017. As a freshman, Parker was named team MVP and earned a spot on the all-tournament team at the national championship after hitting 9-for-19 with two RBIs and seven runs scored. He batted .310 as a freshman, with 10 doubles, one home run, and 31 RBIs, and improved to .384 as a sophomore, with 11 doubles, three home runs, and 40 RBIs, earning second-team all-conference honors.

Parker went on to start 16 games at Louisiana Tech as a junior before concluding his playing career at Southeastern Louisiana. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in general studies, minoring in business and marketing.

Parker is a graduate of Brother Martin High School, where he was a four-year letterman and two-year team captain on the baseball team. He also earned three letters on the football team, serving as a team captain twice. He received all-district honors twice and won The Clarion-Herald Linebacker Award in the New Orleans Catholic League.

Athleticism runs in the Parker family. His sister, Kristen, played collegiate volleyball at LSU, his uncle Johnny Morreale played in the Milwaukee Brewers system, and his grandfather Junior Morreale played in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Parker married Kaitlin Sellers on September 30, 2023. The couple welcomed their first child, John, on June 3, 2025.
