Bears Baseball let’s two slip away against LSUE

The Baton Rouge Bears and the #10 LSUE Bengals squared off for a pair of seven-inning conference games at Bengal Stadium on the Cajun Prairie. The Bears would let two games slip away this afternoon, as the Bengals swept the Bears with final scores of 10-2 and 6-4.
Game One
The Bengals capitalized on the Bears' shaky defense to win 10-2.
The Bengals got off to a strong start, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning, thanks to a couple of fielding errors by the Bears. This gave them an early 2-0 lead.
The Bears managed to cut the lead in half with a run in the top of the second. Keegan Kelsey hit a single, followed by a hit-by-pitch of Jay Stelly and a single by Cayden Vice to load the bases. Brayden Bertucci then hit a sacrifice fly to right field, allowing Kelsey to tag up and score.
The Bengals responded by adding two more runs in the bottom of the third, increasing their lead to 4-1, again benefiting from some fielding miscues by the Bears.
The Bears would not back down easily, adding another run in the top of the fourth inning, narrowing the gap to 4-2. Keegan Kelsey singled and advanced on a ground out by Aiden Washington. He would later score when Cayden Vice hit a ball into the gap.
The Bengals responded swiftly in the bottom of the fourth, scoring another run after a double and another fielding error by the Bears, pushing their lead to 5-2. The Bengals continued their offensive surge with back-to-back doubles and a fielder's choice, plating three runs in the bottom of the fifth, extending their lead to 8-2. They added two more insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure a 10-2 victory.
Evan McDaniel started on the mound for the Bears and took the loss, pitching 5 innings and allowing 8 runs (4 earned) on 6 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 2. Jayse Degruy pitched one inning in relief for the Bears. L. Fenske started on the mound for the Bengals and earned the victory, pitching 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits, walking 1, and striking out 5.
Baton Rouge outhit LSUE 9 to 6, but the Bears committed six errors during the game.

Game Two
The Bengals secured a dramatic walk-off victory against the Bears, winning Game Two 6-4 with a two-run homer hit to left field.
The Bears got on the scoreboard first, scoring one run in the top of the first inning. Brayden Bertucci led off with a single and advanced to third on a double by Cayden Vice. Bertucci then scored on a sacrifice fly by Brecken Bordelon, giving the Bears a 1-0 lead.
The Bears added another run in the top of the second inning to extend their lead to 2-0. Keegan Kelsey drew a walk and later scored on a double to center field by Ben Switzer.
However, the Bengals responded with a strong performance, plating four runs across three innings on just two hits, aided by two Bears errors, to take a 4-2 lead by the end of the third inning.
In the top of the fifth, the Bears managed to score again, narrowing their deficit to 4-3. Keegan Kelsey walked, Ben Switzer hit a single, and Brayden Bertucci grounded into a fielder's choice, putting runners at the corners. Kelsey scored on a wild pitch.
In the top of the sixth, the Bears tied the game at 4-4 thanks to a solo home run to left field by Hudson Heltz.
With the Bengals down to their final out, J Luna hit a two-run homer to left field, securing a thrilling 6-4 walk-off victory.
Tanner Cranford started on the mound for the Bears and took the loss, pitching 6.2 innings and allowing 6 runs (4 earned) on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Kade Lacoste started for the Bengals, pitching 5 innings while allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts. M Gallien and A Mouton provided relief for the Bengals, with Mouton earning the victory.
Both teams collected five hits during the game, while the Bears committed two errors.
