Three Bears named to All-Region XXIII team.

The Region XXIII baseball coaches voted on the All- Region team this week and the team was announced yesterday afternoon before the final game of the day. Three Bears Baseball student athletes were selected for the All Region Team. Tanner Hornback, Seth Fontenot and Isaac Leger were all selected.
Tanner Hornback is a freshman infielder from Lafayette, Louisiana. Tanner played second base for the Bears during conference play and for the second half of the season. He was named to the All-Region team as an infielder. Tanner played in all 12 conference games where he hit .304 with 14 hits, 11 runs, 46 AB, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 10 RBIs and 9 stolen bases. For the season, Tanner hits .394 with 165 AB, 65 hits, 42 runs, 11 doubles, 1 triple, 2 homers and runs and 40 stolen bases.
Seth Fontenot is a freshman catcher from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Seth split catching duties with Braden Corkern throughout the season. Seth played in 10 of the 12 conference games. He was named to the All-Region team as a catcher. During conference, Seth had a .294 batting average with 17 AB, 6 runs, 5 hits, 1 double, 4 RBIs, 3 walks, 4 hit by pitches and 1 stolen base. He caught four runners stealing. For the season, Seth hit .263 with 80 AB, 21 runs, 21 hits, 3 doubles,3 home runs, 16 RBIs, 13 BB, 10 hit by pitches, and 2 stolen bases.
Isaac Leger is a sophomore infielder/ designated hitter from Mamou, Louisiana. Isaac was the primary DH during conference play. He was named to the All- Region team as the designated hitter. Isaac played in 11 of 12 conference games where he hit .414 with 29 AB, 10 runs, 12 hits, 1 double, 4 home runs, 12 RBIs, 3 BB, 3 hit by pitches and 2 stolen bases. For the season, Isaac hit .314 in 37 games. He had 70 AB with 21 runs, 22 hits, 4 doubles, 1 triple, 6 homers and runs, 24 RBIs, 13 BB, 4 hit by pitches and 5 stolen bases.
