Bears Splits Monday Night Dbl Header with Triton
GAME 1
An early lead helped BRCC defeat Triton 16-8 on Monday. BRCC scored on a double by Trey Webb in the first inning, a single by Collin Dupre in the second inning, a single by John Touchet in the second inning, a double by Thomas Marsala in the second inning, a double by Webb in the second inning, a walk by Ryan Richard in the second inning, a single by Dupre in the second inning, and a walk by Ethan Menard in the second inning.
Triton scored five runs in the first inning, but BRCC still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Triton came thanks to singles by Dylan Holmes and Aaron Barrera and a groundout by Jayden Gonzalez.
BRCC pulled away for good with 11 runs in the second inning. In the second Dupre singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Touchet singled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs, Marsala doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, Webb doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs, Richard drew a walk, scoring one run, Dupre singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, and Menard drew a walk, scoring one run.
T.J Thomas jr got the start for BRCC. The pitcher surrendered three runs on one hit over one-third of an inning.
Ramziel Ortiz led things off on the hill for Triton . Ortiz surrendered five runs on six hits over one inning, striking out one and walking zero. Mark Bolz and Steve Dabrowski entered the game as relief, throwing four and two-thirds innings and one-third of an inning respectively.
BRCC saw the ball well today, racking up 14 hits in the game. Webb, Dupre, Jake Cabeceiras, and Marsala all managed multiple hits for BRCC. Marsala, Cabeceiras, Dupre, and Webb all had two hits to lead BRCC. Dupre led BRCC with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with five stolen bases.
Game 2
Monday's game against 2023 Triton was a heartbreaker for BRCC, as they lost the lead late in a 9-8 defeat. The game was tied at eight with 2023 Triton batting in the top of the sixth when Frank Magnelli singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
Despite the loss, BRCC did collect six hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, 2023 Triton had eight hits on the way to victory.
BRCC captured the lead in the first inning. Jake Cabeceiras drew a walk, scoring one run.
Hayden Mikesell was on the hill for 2023 Triton. The righthander surrendered six runs on three hits over two and a third innings.
Sean Burkhead toed the rubber for BRCC. The pitcher surrendered one run on two hits over one inning, striking out two. Caden Durnad, Ethan Prescott, Briggs Curtis, and John Touchet each entered the game as relief, throwing three innings, one inning, one inning, and one inning respectively.
BRCC tallied six hits. Braden McLin and Cole Joyner each racked up multiple hits for BRCC. Joyner and McLin all had two hits to lead BRCC. Ethan Menard led BRCC with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with ten stolen bases.
