Four Baseball Student Athletes Selected for All Region Team

The Region XXIII baseball coaches voted on the All- Region team this week and the team was announced today. Four Bears Baseball student athletes were selected for the All Region Team. Lane Hutchinson, Braxton Gallet, Elliot Hebert and Ethan Menard were all selected.

Lane Hutchinson is a returning third-year Freshman infielder from Watson, Louisiana. Lane played primarily third base but was moved to shortstop midway through conference. He was named to the All-Region team as an infielder. Lane played in 10 of the 12 conference games where he hit .382 with 13 hits, 6 runs, 5 doubles, 1 triple, 2 homers and 6 RBIs. For the season, Hutch batted .342 with 50 hits, 17 doubles, 3 triples, 6 homers, 28 runs and 32 RBIs.

Braxton Gallet is a returning second- year Freshman outfielder from Sunset, Louisiana. Braxton was named to the All-Region team as an outfielder. Braxton played in all 12 conference games where he batted .422 with 45 at bats, 19 hits, 10 runs, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 1 homer and 8 RBIs. On the whole season, Gallet batted .444 with 55 hits, 34 runs, 9 doubles, 2 triples, 2 homers and 23 RBIs.

Elliot Hebert is a returning third- year Freshman outfielder from Rayne, Louisiana. Elliot battled an injury for the first part of the season but returned just in time to start the conference season. Elliot split time between being the designated hitter and an outfielder. He was named to the All-Region team as the designated hitter. Elliot played in all 12 conference games where he batted, .275 with 11 hits, 13 runs, 5 doubles, 1 triple, 2 homers and 7 RBIs. For the season, Hebert hit .319 with 22 hits in 69 at bats and 9 doubles, 1 triple, 4 homers and 17 RBIs.

Ethan Menard is a true Freshman utility player from Opelousas, Louisiana. Throughout the season, Ethan played all over the baseball field. He had playing stints as catcher, outfielder, designated hitter, and pitcher. Ethan was named to the All-Region team as an Utility player. Menard played in 11 of 12 conference games where he had a .207 batting average with 29 at bats with 6 runs, 6 hits, 1 double, 2 homers and 8 RBIs. For the season Ethan hit .392 with 8 homers, 51 hits and 37 RBIs.
