The Baton Rouge Community College Athletic Department held a signing ceremony for six Bears baseball student athlete that will continue their athletic and academic careers at four year institutions, today in the Bonne Sante Wellness Center. Cameron Lewis, Nathan Beyer, Christopher Courville, William Veillon, Nathan Carriere and Peter Holden all signed scholarships to attend a four year institution. The Bears Baseball program has a rich success of sending student athlete to four year institutions. The Bears have had over 100 student athlete move on to the next level in the programs sixteen year history. The Bears have also had five student athletes play in professional baseball.

Cameron Lewis is an outfielder from Houston, Texas. Cam has signed to continue his academic and athletic career at Louisiana State University- Shreveport in Shreveport, Louisiana. Cameron signed with the Bears in 2019-2020 out of Jersey Village High School. In Cameron's career as a Bear, he has a .241 bating average with 25 Ab, 10 Runs, 6 Hits, 6 BB and 5 stolen bases. Cameron has played in 27 games during his Bear's playing career.
Nathan Beyer is an outfielder form San Antonio, Texas. Nate has signed to continue his academic and athletic career at Louisiana State University- Shreveport in Shreveport, Louisiana. Beyer came to BRCC from Trinidad State in 2019-2020. Nate finished his BRCC career with a .328 batting average in 70 games. He has 192 AB, 44 runs, 63 hits, 15 doubles, 9 HR, 47 RBIs, 22 BB and 17 stolen bases. Nate's 9 career homeruns ties him for fourth all time in Bears history.
Christopher Courville, is a crafty left handed pitcher from Denham Springs, Louisiana. Chris has signed to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana. Chris began his Bear's career in 2018-19 out of Denham Springs High School. During his career, Chris has appeared in 33 games with 13 wins and 7 losses. He has a combined ERA of 6.84 with 7 complete games pitched. He has pitched in 135.4 innings, while at BRCC. Chris is the Bears' career leader in wins and strikeouts. He is third career wise in innings pitched. Chris also holds the single season records for wins and innings pitched.
William Veillon, is an outfielder from Rayne, Louisiana. Will has signed to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Lafayette, Louisiana. Will joined the Bears in 2018-2019 from Norte Dame High School. Will has a career batting average of .329 in 122 games. He has 387 AB, 111 Runs, 129 Hits, 27 doubles, 18 HR, 94 RBIs, 59 walks and 41 stolen bases. Will holds the school records for his career in At Bats, Runs, Hits, RBIs, Walks and tied for first in homeruns. He is ninth in at bats, second in runs, seventh in hits, third in walks and first in homeruns in Bears single season records.
Nathan Carriere is an outfielder from Maringouin, Louisiana Nate has signed to continue his academic and athletic career at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. Carriere joined the Bears in 2019-2020 when he transferred from Louisiana College. He has a career .389 batting average in 70 games. He has 230 AB, 68 runs, 85 hits, 16 doubles, 9 HR, 44 RBIs, 30 BB and 57 stolen bases during his BRCC career. Nate is third all time in career batting average, fourth in career homeruns and second all time in career stolen bases. He hold the single season record with 56 hits. He is fourth in singe season homeruns, fifth in single season hits and second in single season stolen bases.
Peter Holden is a left handed pitcher from Vero Beach, Florida. Peter has signed to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. Peter joined the Bears in 2019-2020 when he transferred from Southern University. Peter has appeared in 23 games as a Bear with 2 wins, 2 loses and 3 saves. He has pitched 55.1 innings with a career ERA of 3.54 as a Bear.
