Lady Bears Sign Denham Springs Standout

Head Coach Paula Lee inked Denham Springs standout, Lexi McMorris, to a scholarship to Baton Rouge Community College. The 5'7 guard will enroll in BRCC this fall with hopes of leading the Lady Bears back to the Region 23 Tournament next season.

After sitting out her junior year of high school due to transfer rules, McMorris made up for lost time this past season. She was named All-Livingston Parish MVP. She also helped Denham Springs reach the 5A State Championship game.

Coach Lee believes McMorris will be a welcome addition to the perimeter. "Lexi is a pure shooter who will give the Lady Bears a much needed threat from the perimeter. She comes from a solid program at Denham Springs High School under the leadership of Coach Laprarie who does an excellent job of teaching the game as well as fundamentals." Coach Lee Continued, "without a doubt, we are getting a player who will bring toughness, leadership and a great attitude to our Lady Bear program."
