BRCC beat Holmes Community College 69-53 on Monday afternoon. The Lady Bears pulled away late in the first half after finding themselves behind in the early stages of the game. With 4:30 remaining in the first half the Lady Bears were facing a 28-26 deficit. BRCC used a 16-7 run to close out the half and take a 42-33 lead into the break. A lead they would not relinquish the rest of the day.
The second half began in the same fashion as the first half ended. Over the first eight minutes, the Lady Bears outscored Holmes 17-5 and the lead was extended to 59-38.
The win brings the Lady Bears season record to 13-4, they have won twelve of the last thirteen games. Today's contest was the final non-conference game before Miss-Lou play begins later this month. The Lady Bears begin their quest for a repeat when they travel to LSU-Eunice on Wednesday, January 29th.
The Lady Bears were able to score 60 points this afternoon which gave all the fans in the stands free Raising Cane's. There are four more Cane's Challenges during the rest of the basketball season. If either team is able to score sixty points or more, 500 fans in attendance will receive Buy One Get One free combos.
