BRCC Hires New Softball Coach

Baton Rouge Community College has named Eric Neel as the program's new softball coach. Coach Neel brings to BRCC a successfull coaching pedigree at the high school and collegiate level. 

Having success on multiple levels is what stood out to the search committee. 

"Neel's success at the high school and NJCAA levels were important." More from Athletic Director Neil Hayhurst, "Coach Neel has the ability to develop talent. He builds confidence in his players by preaching fundamentals. I am excited to have Coach Neel take BRCC softball to the next level."

Neel is ready to lead the softball program to new heights.

"My family and I are extremely happy for the opportunity. We are excited to be a part of the Bear Family," Neel said. "I want to thank the administration at Baton Rouge Community College for giving me the chance to lead this program. I look forwarded to turning BRCC softball into a national power."

Neel comes to Baton Rouge from Biloxi, Mississippi. He has led a number of high school programs, having won five state championships. In one season at Darton State College, Neel led the Lady Cavalier softball program to a GCCAA Conference Championship, Region 17 Championship and an appearance in the 2014 NJCAA World Series.
