BRCC Opens Season with a Victory

Baton Rouge opened the season versus Bossier Parrish CC on Saturday evening. First half play was sloppy at times, but the Bears took a 48-43 lead into the break.

The fast pace did not change in the second half, both teams traded baskets before the Bears ended up pulling away and securing a double-digit victory. Baton Rouge won the game after a 68 point second half; the final score was 116-105.

Five Bears finished in double-figures, leading the way was transfer Erik Thomas with 24 points; Seth Jackson added 19; Jermaine Johnson 17; Drexler Davis 16; and Damian Young 11.

The Bears travel tomorrow to Northeast Mississippi Classic where they will play Northwest Mississippi Community College on Monday afternoon before facing Northeast Mississippi Community College on Tuesday evening.
