Baton Rouge could not get the bats going, managing six hits in game one. Blake Buller hit a solo home run in the third inning, it would be the lone run of the game for the Bears. Buller would pick up a second hit later in the game. Logan Rogers (two singles), Zachary Zimmer (single) and Devin Bailey (single) were the other Bears to get a hit.
Offense was not an issue for the Gators. San Jac recorded 16 hits en route to a 9-1 victory in game one.
Hits were a plenty to start game two. BRCC batted around to score seven runs on seven hits to take a big lead early against San Jacinto.
The Bears didn't stop there, by the end of the fourth inning, BRCC had eighteen hits and twenty-two runs had crossed the plate. Sophomore, John Schaffer, cruised to the victory for the Bears. He pitched six complete innings, giving up four runs on nine hits.
After splitting today's doubleheader, Baton Rouge (19-19-1) will be back in action at home on Saturday afternoon. BRCC will host Mississippi Gulf Coast for a doubleheader starting at 1:00 pm.
